Natural Progression

If anyone is in Sligo on the 20th of February, I’m taking part in Natural Progression a small exhibition of Sligo born/based digital artists. I, my brother Tom, my brother Sean, Lisa Powell, Victoria MacArthur, Michelle Granville and Nick Grey will be exhibiting various pieces of digital art. I will be exhibiting my first Installation combining Electronic Composition and Animation. The venue is ArtMart Studios on the Mall and it will remain open for 2 weeks after the opening on the 20th.

Chicago And New York Screenings this Spring

The Chicago Irish Film Festival will be screening “The Office Environment” between March 5th and March 10th this year. A further screening is scheduled for New York as well but I’ll post the details of that once the full line-up is finalised. These will be my first screenings state-side so I can’t wait. Not that I’ll actually get to travel there for them, impoverished as I am. Still great news, I feel honoured!

Spotlight On: Britspotting

britlogo_anniversary-[Converted]
About 2 weeks ago, Dagny Kleber of the German film festival Britspotting posted a wonderful write-up on the Britspotting website about your’s truly entitled Spotlight On: Mark Mullery. Give it look! I’m not sure if my film has been selected for the festival or not as there is no listing up yet but either way, having the write-up was an honour.

Synth Eastwood and the Darklight Film Festival

The Office Environment was selected and screened at the Lighthouse Cinema as part of the Darklight Film Festival. Specifically it was selected by the art collective Synth Eastwood. Big props to them for selecting it from the hundreds of entries, it really was an honour! It’s a pity I couldn’t have posted this before the Festival but the site was experiencing problems at the time. That said the place was packed out so I don’t think they needed any more press! “The Office Environment” Poster

Officeposter2Just thought I’d stick this up. If anyone went to the IADT Graduate Exhibition they may have picked up one of these as a postcard. I only did about 20-30 and they were all gone by the end so that was cool.

Galway

So my graduate film ‘The Office Environment’ has been selected for the Galway Film Festival in the category of Best Debut Short Animation. Going to tighten up the edit if I can before sending it off on miniDV and once it’s been screened I’ll put it up on Vimeo for y’all. Then I’m never going to lay eyes on it again for the rest of my life.
